HEALTH AND HAPPINESS IN TO THE PARADISE

Ayurveda is an ancient medical science which was developed in India thousands of years ago. Believed to have been passed on to humans from the Gods themselves, Ayurveda developed and evolved into what it is today from several ancient treatises, most notably Adharva Veda which dates back to five thousand years. The ancient Vedic literature by sages has clearly laid out instructions to maintain health as well as fighting illness through therapies, massages, herbal medicines, diet control and exercise. This retreat gives you the opportunity to explore authentic Ayurveda treatments and Ayurveda organic vegetarian food according to your body and mind constitution, pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation. During your stay you will focus on cleansing and rejuvenating your body and mind. Do you feel that there is the alert time to do something good for your body? Join us. We will give you the most important thing in our life – the inner peace and balance.

WHO IS NAGUAL UCHU

Nagual Uchu comes from Latin America. He learned and practiced shamanism mostly in Mexico, Peru and Brazil where he lived with the Indians. He was once part of Carlos Castaneda’s circle and worked closely with Merilyn Tunneshende (the nagual Woman from don Juan’s circle). He spent years travelling all around the world, living in India and among African and Siberian shamans, gaining rich experience in working with energies.

He combined and integrated ancient knowledge and techniques into Urban-Modern Shamanism which is applicable in 21st century in our everyday lives.  For more than 20 years Uchu has been teaching and coaching ancient shamanic techniques all over the world. He is currently active in Europe.

Shamanism is the earliest spiritual practice known to mankind. It teaches us that everything in existence is alive and has a spirit, we are all connected in “the great web of life”. We are part of Mother Nature, not standing over and above it. Shamanism is a generous, loving path of caring for one another and for nature.

For many years we have been taking groups on transformative spiritual journeys and retreats into nature. This time, we have prepared a special opportunity for you to experience magical India (Ayurveda) with Nagual Uchu. We will shamanically explore and sense ancient energies and wisdom of this holly place. We have prepared a rich program for you, which will include at least 12 workshops, a satsang (spiritual gathering) and two ceremonies – a water ceremony and a fire ceremony. We will focus on feeling nature, getting to know local culture and on our inner journeys that will be supported by the strong spiritual energies of this particular place.

Nagual Uchu’s workshops and ceremonies will be integrated into the program so that they coincide with the energies of the places where we are going. Together we will connect with the ancient, primeval, telluric energies of the island and will honor it with a water ceremony (blessing of the water) and a fire ceremony and an offering (celebration of life).

Nagual Uchu does not follow a fixed program. He sees and reads the energy of the group and of the individuals and adapts the program according to the group’s best interest. Workshops are in English and translation from English to Slovene is provided.

If you want to experience the real, authentic Ayurveda retreat do not hesitate to contact us.

Local time: UTC/GMT + 5:30 hours

Health: South India is the most touristic part in the country and more organized than the rest of the country; for this reason, there’s no major health risk. We’ll travel through inhabited places with good local medical care and medicines available in pharmacies. We’ll sleep in nice and clean accommodations.

India is still a Third World country and there are some food rules for us:

Water from the waterworks isn’t potable, bottled water is available everywhere.

Ice in beverages should be avoided.

Fruits have to be peeled before eating.

No vaccination is mandatory. You can find more information on this website: http://www.zdravinapot.si/destinacije/juzna-azija/indija

Safety: India is safe to travel. The local people are peaceful, friendly and open to tourists.

However, be careful especially in tourist resorts and crowded places, for example in markets, where pickpockets like to take advantage of the crowd.

Money: Currency Converter: 1 EUR to INR = 83.4831 Indian Rupees

You will need cash for small payments. The euro can be exchanged for the Indonesian rupee at the airport, in banks and exchange offices. It’s recommended to exchange the money in official exchange offices.

Remember to save the exchange receipt until leaving the country.

Credit cards are accepted only in big shops in cities and in hotels. We still recommend you to check with your bank if your credit card can be used in India.

Additional costs: India is an affordable country. In comparison to Slovenia, the food is cheaper for about a half, however, the prices of alcoholic beverages are comparable to our prices.

There won’t be many additional costs, only for drinks, shopping, souvenirs or any additional activities.

Weather: What is the temperature in December in Kovalam?

In Kovalam, in December, the average high-temperature is 31°C (87.8°F), and the average low-temperature is 23°C (73.4°F). The average seawater temperature, in December, is 28.3°C (82.9°F). With these temperatures, water activities are pleasurable, without feeling uncomfortable for prolonged periods.

Clothes: We recommend you to wear clothes covering your shoulders, cleavage and knees (T-shirts, 3/4 trousers, skirts over the knees, light cotton clothes) when visiting temples, airports and other religious or official spaces. By respecting local culture we’ll gain respect of the locals.

Accommodation: Accommodations have been selected carefully. We’ll sleep in double rooms.

Are you traveling alone, but wouldn’t like to pay extra for a single room? Let us know when signing up that you would like to share a room with another person. If we find a roommate for you, you won’t need to pay extra for a single room.

Telephone and Internet: The dialing number from India to Slovenia is 00386 + telephone number without the first 0). To make a call to India, you first need to dial the 91 country code . In case you are calling landline number in India, dial the STD code (without the 0) followed by the landline phone number. If you are looking to call a mobile phone, just dial 91 followed by the ten digit mobile phone number. Usually, Slovenian cell phones work properly in India. It’s cheaper to communicate via the Internet, Wi-Fi is available for free in most accommodations in India.

Electricity:What voltage and frequency in India?

In India the standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in India, if the standard voltage in your country is in between 220 - 240 V (as is in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa). Manufacturers take these small deviations into account. If the standard voltage in your country is in the range of 100 V - 127 V (as is in the US, Canada and most South American countries), you need a voltage converter in India. You can also consider a combined power plug adapter/voltage converter.

Is it possible to pay for the trip in several installments? Of course. This makes sense when signing up early several months before the trip.

Will we meet before the trip? We’ll meet about a month before the trip. At the meeting, we’ll present the program of the trip in detail and answer all your questions.

Arrival by airplane

Trivandum International Airport (TRV).

Second Flight is from Trivandum International Airport (TRV) to Male International Airport (MLE).
